$177M AT&T settlement deadline nears: How to claim up to $7.5K

Wsav-tv
AT&T customers affected by data breaches between 2019 and 2022 have until December 18th to claim up to $7,500 from a $177 million settlement.

Summary

A $177 million settlement is available to AT&T customers whose personal data was compromised in data breaches occurring in 2019 and 2022. The breaches exposed information from 7.6 million current and 65.4 million former account holders in the first incident, and data from nearly all customers in the second. The claim deadline is December 18th, and payouts can reach up to $5,000 for the first breach and $2,500 for the second, depending on the extent of damages and documentation provided.

To qualify, individuals must have had their data – including names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, Social Security numbers, and account details – exposed in the breaches. Class members were notified via email from [email protected], but should check their junk folders. Claims can be filed online using a class member ID or by mail with a postmark by the deadline.

The amount received will vary based on the type of data compromised and whether supporting documentation of losses is submitted. Tiered payments are available, with higher amounts for those who can demonstrate financial harm directly linked to the breaches. A final approval hearing is scheduled for January 15, 2026, and payments are expected to be disbursed sometime in the following year.
