The lawsuit, filed in October 2023, claimed that ZOA Energy drinks contained chemical preservatives like citric and ascorbic acids despite being advertised as “0 Preservatives.” ZOA Energy denied the allegations but settled to avoid further legal battles.

Customers who purchased ZOA Energy drinks between March 1, 2021, and November 21, 2025, with labels stating “0 Preservatives” may be eligible for compensation. Those with proof of purchase can receive $1 per drink, up to a maximum of $150 per household. Customers without proof of purchase can receive $1 per drink, up to $10 per household.

The claim submission deadline is February 20, 2026. Consumers who do not submit a claim will forfeit their right to compensation, while those who opt out retain the right to sue ZOA Energy independently but will not receive funds from the settlement.
