A class-action lawsuit filed last month alleges that the owners of the two-Michelin-starred eatery Cesar on Hudson Street, chef Cesar Ramirez and his wife Adriana Rodriguez, committed state labor law violations against their employees. The suit claims the 333 Hospitality Group illegally shared tips with managers, paid workers below minimum wage, and cheated them out of overtime pay. Former captain Oscar Molina and at least three current employees are plaintiffs, representing up to 40 past and present service workers. The lawsuit alleges Ramirez "personally" forced employees to understate their hours worked. If successful, damages could run into the millions. Ramirez has a history of legal disputes, including a previous lawsuit from employees at his former three-Michelin-starred restaurant, Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare.
