Exclusive | Silicon Valley couple schemes Grammy winner out of millions over AI music: suit

New York Post
Oak Felder and Lucas Keller sue Valley couple Walter and Samia De Brouwer for allegedly stealing their AI music software and $5 million in stock options.

Summary

Oak Felder, a Grammy‑winning songwriter, and Lucas Keller, a veteran music manager, developed an AI music creation tool that included a copyright‑checker feature. In 2023 they met Silicon Valley entrepreneurs Walter and Samia De Brouwer, who expressed interest in the technology and promised stock options from their company Snowcrash if Felder and Keller wrote the software.

Shortly after, the De Brouwers allegedly coerced the duo into assigning the software patent to Snowcrash, then formed Sound Patrol and purchased nearly all of Snowcrash’s assets, including the patent. The plaintiffs say the deal left their stock options worthless and that Sound Patrol secured lucrative licensing agreements with Universal Music Group and Sony Music without compensating Felder and Keller. They are suing for more than $5 million in damages and the right to the software patent, labeling the De Brouwers as "Unscrupulous Silicon Valley scammers".
