EPFO has pushed back the launch of its UPI‑linked provident fund claim settlement facility to August, after encountering technical glitches on the newly upgraded CITES 2.01 portal. The delay follows complaints from members about missing account details, login failures, slow loading and delayed claim processing on the portal. Once the portal stabilises, the UPI system will run alongside the existing NEFT mechanism, allowing eligible PF claims to be credited directly into members’ bank accounts via a BHIM‑linked interface. The move, announced by Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya as part of EPFO 3.0 reforms, is expected to speed settlements, simplify withdrawals and enhance digital access for subscribers.
