Silver Elephant Files Lawsuit Against Andean Precious Metals Over Alleged Interference with Pulacayo-Paca Mining Production Contract
Summary
Silver Elephant Mining Corp. and its subsidiaries have filed a Notice of Civil Claim in the Supreme Court of British Columbia against Andean Precious Metals Corp. and three executives, alleging they conspired to terminate the company's mining production contract with Bolivia's state-owned mining company, COMIBOL. The contract, covering the Pulacayo-Paca Project, granted Silver Elephant rights to mine silver, zinc, and lead over 30 years. The claim asserts that the defendants induced COMIBOL to terminate the contract on December 16, 2024, without proper basis, causing significant financial loss. As a result, Andean reportedly entered into exclusive agreements with COMIBOL to extract oxide materials from the project, extracting approximately 250,000 tonnes valued at US$100 million since February 2025. This legal action follows a previous favorable arbitration award against Andean. Silver Elephant seeks substantial damages and intends to pursue all available remedies to reinstate its contract.
