Uber Technologies Inc. has moved to block a proposed class action alleging the company willfully submitted fraudulent tax forms to the IRS. The plaintiff, Damian Josefsberg, claims Uber reported income he never earned because he never drove for the company. However, Uber argues that Josefsberg expressly agreed to arbitrate any disputes in its terms of service. The company states he consented to the arbitration agreement in January 2023 and April 2026 via his phone. Consequently, Uber is asking the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida to compel individual arbitration instead of a class action.
