Business mogul RNAQ offers ex-wife GH¢2m in new divorce settlement case - Reports

Ghana Web
Businessman RNAQ has reportedly increased his ex-wife's court-awarded settlement to GH¢2 million and offered additional assets to settle their divorce outside court.

Summary

Ghanaian businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye, known as RNAQ, has reportedly offered to raise the court-awarded GH¢300,000 alimony for his ex-wife Joana Coffie to GH¢2 million. The offer, detailed in a statement by RNAQ's lawyers addressed to Joana's legal team on May 7, 2026, includes several properties and luxury vehicles, such as a Mercedes-Benz E-Class, in an effort to resolve the divorce outside the courtroom. Joana, who was married to RNAQ for 16 years and demanded a GH¢50 million settlement, had previously reported him to the police in 2023. In January 2026, the High Court dissolved the marriage and awarded Joana GH¢300,000, a one-third share of their home, two Jaguar vehicles, and monthly support for their children. Joana has since filed an appeal arguing the trial court misapplied marital property laws.
