A settlement for a resident claiming harm from the 1,037-acre Project Cardinal data center in Yorkville has been delayed after another resident-led lawsuit was filed. During a May 8 status hearing before Kendall County Judge Robert Pilmer, attorneys for both sides requested an extension until May 22 to assess the impact of the new lawsuit. The new lawsuit, filed by Preserve Our Yorkville & Community LLC, claims the city failed to notify residents of plans to annex land and rezone it for data center construction. The group, which includes Skyfall Equestrian LLC and several residents, aims to halt data center construction. The city has already approved the CyrusOne, Project Cardinal, and Project Steel data centers.
