The $60.5 million tinder payout: How to claim your settlement cash today | Hindustan Times

Hindustan Times
Tinder will pay $60.5 million to settle a lawsuit alleging age-based price discrimination for its Tinder Plus and Gold subscriptions.

Summary

Tinder has agreed to a $60.5 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit claiming it unfairly charged users aged 30 and over higher subscription fees for Tinder Plus and Tinder Gold. The lawsuit, filed in 2015, alleged that Tinder charged older customers between $19.99 and $14.99 per month, while those under 30 paid $9.99. Although Tinder denies any wrongdoing, the settlement applies to individuals who purchased these subscriptions in California on or after March 2, 2015, while over 29, or after March 2, 2016, while over 28. Eligible users can claim their share of the settlement by visiting the official settlement website and selecting a payment method by August 18, 2026, with payments likely to be distributed via PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle. The payout amount will be determined on a per capita and pro rata basis, dividing the net settlement amount by the number of participating class members.
