Trader Joe's has reached a $7.4 million class action settlement affecting roughly 747,663 customers who made purchases between March 5, 2019, and July 19, 2019. The lawsuit, *Keim v. Trader Joe’s*, alleged that the grocery chain violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act by printing the first six and last four digits of customers’ credit and debit card numbers on their receipts. While the receipts did not include full card numbers, expiration dates, or personal information like names and addresses, the printed digits potentially increased the risk of identity theft. Trader Joe’s denies any wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement. Affected customers are eligible to receive approximately $102.45 each. The deadline to file a claim is June 9, 2026, and the deadline to exclude oneself from the settlement to pursue individual claims is also June 9, 2026.
