Trader Joe's may owe you $100. How to find out in Arizona
Summary
Trader Joe's may owe eligible customers approximately $100 each as part of a $7.4 million class action settlement. The lawsuit, filed in 2019, claimed that some Trader Joe's stores printed receipts with the first six and last four digits of customers’ credit and debit cards, violating the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) and potentially exposing them to identity theft. Trader Joe's denied wrongdoing but settled to avoid further litigation.
To be eligible, customers must have made a purchase at a Trader Joe’s store between March 5, 2019, and July 19, 2019, using a credit or debit card and received a receipt displaying more than the last five digits of their card number. Customers can submit a claim online or by mail until June 9th.
The amount each claimant receives will depend on the total number of valid claims filed, but the plaintiff estimates around $102.45 per person. Settlement checks will be distributed within 10 business days of final court approval, and can be cashed within 180 days of issuance.
