Dollar General Settlement Is Real And You Can Still Claim Your Benefit Even If You Missed The Deadline

Artvoice
Dollar General settled a lawsuit over price discrepancies and customers can still claim a $3 discount on purchases over $10 in June 2026.

Summary

Dollar General has agreed to an $8.5 million settlement following a class action lawsuit alleging that customers were frequently charged prices at the register that differed from those advertised on store shelves. While the deadline to claim a cash payment has passed, customers who shopped at Dollar General between October 10, 2016, and November 19, 2025, are still eligible for a $3 discount on purchases of $10 or more, redeemable on June 1st and 2nd, 2026.

The lawsuit, *Braun v. Dolgencorp LLC*, argued that Dollar General knowingly allowed these pricing errors to occur, disproportionately affecting lower-income and rural communities who rely on the store for essential goods. The company has not admitted wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement to resolve the case.

To claim the in-store benefit, customers must register through the settlement website or their myDG account. Those who did not receive a notice will receive a postcard or email with the credit details after registering. The discount cannot be combined with other Dollar General coupons but can be used with manufacturer coupons, maximizing potential savings. Unclaimed funds from the cash payment portion will be donated to a national food bank.
