The National Lok Adalat, organized by the District Legal Services Authority in Nashik under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge S.D. Jagmalani, successfully settled 16,826 cases on Saturday. According to Civil Judge (Senior Division) and Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Suhas Bhosale, a total settlement amount of ₹869,489,133 (approximately ₹86 crore) was recovered through mutual compromise. The Lok Adalat considered 32,975 pending cases and 80,267 pre-litigation cases, with 4,159 pending and 12,667 pre-litigation cases resolved in a single day.
The cases settled included 1,141 under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Section 138, 273 motor accident cases, 6 labour-related cases, 40 family disputes, 225 compoundable criminal cases, and 15,141 other cases.
The event demonstrated its effectiveness in reducing case backlogs and providing swift resolution through negotiated settlements, offering relief to those involved in the disputes.
