The Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC) has restored electricity supply to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Water Board, which was previously disconnected due to over a year of unpaid electricity bills. The reconnection, directed by AEDC’s Acting Managing Director, Engr. Chijioke Okwuokenye, aims to quickly restore water services to affected areas of the FCT, acknowledging the critical role of water in public health.
Despite the reconnection, AEDC has issued the FCT Water Board a two-week ultimatum to present and implement a viable payment plan for the outstanding debt. This decision balances the need for revenue collection with the importance of essential services.
