Ticketmaster class action: Are you owed money?
Summary
A federal court in California has authorized a national class action lawsuit titled "Popp v. Live Nation" regarding inflated ticket fees. The lawsuit targets individuals who purchased concert tickets directly through Ticketmaster or a Live Nation affiliate since 2010. The companies have denied any wrongdoing. This legal action follows a federal jury's recent finding that Live Nation and Ticketmaster operated an illegal monopoly that drove up ticket prices. The lawsuit defines "major venues" as the top concert venues, amphitheaters, and arenas tracked by industry publication Pollstar since 2010. Many qualifying venues are located in or around New York, including Madison Square Garden, MetLife Stadium, and Prudential Center. To be included as a class member, individuals must have purchased a primary concert ticket directly from Ticketmaster or a Live Nation affiliate and attended a concert at a major venue in the United States since 2010. The amount of potential payouts is not yet clear, as the case has not been resolved. The current trial date is set for July 6, 2027. If a recipient wishes to remain in the class, no action is required. However, individuals who wish to opt out and retain the right to file their own lawsuit must submit a written request postmarked by July 6, 2026.
