DRT system restoration result of settlement, contract negotiations ongoing

Postguam
The DRT system was restored following a settlement, but contract negotiations with the vendor, Data Management Resources LLC, are still in progress.

Summary

The Department of Revenue and Taxation (DRT) recently restored its system after reaching a settlement agreement, as stated by public information officer Carlina Charfauros. While most of the system was restored Wednesday night, the driver’s license examination branch was only partially operational initially, but was fully restored by Friday. The disruption stemmed from issues renewing a license with software vendor Data Management Resources LLC, specifically a significant cost increase exceeding the department’s budget.

During the system downtime, access to GuamTax.com and MyGuamTax.com was suspended, with a notice indicating licensing and support service renewal was pending. These websites, along with pay.guam.gov, have now been restored, allowing taxpayers to access online DRT services.

DRT has announced a moratorium for those affected by the limited operations, which will include waivers of certain penalties and fees, and extensions of services. The department is finalizing the details of the moratorium to ensure it adequately addresses the needs of all impacted taxpayers and consumers.
