FASORP appeals civil lawsuit against Northwestern, Pritzker

The Daily Northwestern
FASORP, a conservative activist group, is appealing a dismissed lawsuit alleging discriminatory hiring practices at Northwestern's Pritzker School of Law.

Summary

FASORP (Faculty, Alumni, and Students Opposed to Racial Preferences) has filed a notice of appeal regarding its civil lawsuit against Northwestern University and the Pritzker School of Law. The group alleges that the law school’s hiring practices discriminate against white male candidates, favoring women and racial minorities with less impressive qualifications. A federal judge previously terminated the case at the district level on February 13th, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois had approved the University’s motion to dismiss the case on January 22nd. This is the second iteration of the lawsuit; FASORP initially filed a similar case in July 2024, dismissing it on January 31, 2025, only to refile the next day. The group claims the law school is “hiring women and racial minorities with mediocre and undistinguished records over white men who have better credentials, better scholarship, and better teaching ability.”
